Building Bat Houses with Scouts
Favorite point of the Scout Law: Reverent.
Honestly, that says a lot. In a world that loves to shout “look at me,” Eric’s a believer in gratitude & remembering there’s something bigger than ourselves. That kind of mindset quietly shapes strong kids.
Eric Hoffman (Mr. Eric)’s Scouting story started back in 2022 when his son joined as a Lion, but this isn’t his first rodeo. As a kid, he worked his way up to Arrow of Light, giving him a firsthand understanding of what these Scouts are working toward.
When asked what keeps him coming back, Eric keeps it simple: helping Scouts grow. Not just tying knots & earning badges, but building character, learning values, & figuring out how to be good humans. That’s the stuff that sticks.
Outside of scouts, he stays involved in the community as a member of the Knights of Columbus in Marysville, continuing that same spirit of service beyond the pack.
When asked what he enjoys most about Pack 89 - his answer is...wtching kids build friendships outside the usual school circles & seeing them grow up into capable, confident young people. That’s the long game & he’s playing it well.
Now let’s get to the important stuff...camp food. Eric’s not overthinking it: S’mores. Classic. Messy. Zero regrets. Some traditions don’t need improving.
